Lautaro Martínez netted a clinical brace on his return from injury as Inter Milan dismantled Roma 5-2 at San Siro, moving nine points clear at the top of the Serie A table.

Despite Gianluca Mancini briefly leveling for the visitors, Cristian Chivu’s side overwhelmed their opponents to move comfortably clear of rivals AC Milan with only seven fixtures remaining.
The victory was highlighted by Çalhanoglu’s stunning 35-yard “spectacular swerving” drive that restored the lead before halftime.
Inter’s relentless second-half pressure saw Martínez “help himself to a second goal” after an inch-perfect pass from Thuram.
Lorenzo Pellegrini grabbed a late consolation for Roma, but the result was never in doubt as the league leaders clinical finishing left the chasing pack with a mountain to climb.
