Colombia captain James Rodríguez has been discharged from a Minnesota hospital following a 72-hour stay for severe dehydration after featuring in international friendlies against Croatia and France.
James Rodríguez was hospitalized in Minneapolis this week after suffering from severe dehydration following Colombia’s 3-1 friendly defeat to France.
The 34-year-old Minnesota United midfielder played 63 minutes in Maryland before presenting symptoms upon his return to the Twin Cities.
The Colombian Football Federation confirmed: “The midfielder has been under professional observation due to a non-sports-related medical condition.”
Medical officials clarified the incident was unrelated to any musculoskeletal injuries, and the player is now recovering at home.
Rodríguez’s status for Minnesota’s upcoming clash against the LA Galaxy remains uncertain despite a positive medical outlook.
The federation stated: “Fortunately, the current medical report indicates a favorable evolution and a steady improvement.” He also featured for 63 minutes against Croatia on March 26.
