Jamie Carragher has asserted that Thierry Henry is the only foreign player in Premier League history to surpass Mohamed Salah, following the Egyptian’s announcement that he will leave Anfield at the end of the season.
Jamie Carragher has hailed Mohamed Salah as a “generational talent,” placing him second only to Thierry Henry among overseas Premier League attackers.
Writing for The Telegraph, Carragher argued that Salah’s consistent output over nine years eclipses legends like Cristiano Ronaldo and Eric Cantona.
Highlighting his remarkable durability, Carragher noted, “In the pantheon of overseas attacking players to have excelled in England, only Thierry Henry eclipses Salah’s output and consistency.”
The 33-year-old forward has amassed 255 goals in 435 appearances, securing every major trophy during his Liverpool tenure.
Carragher praised Salah’s “extraordinary availability” and insatiable hunger, dismissing past public disagreements as mere defense of the club.
Despite the friction, the pundit clarified his stance: “Let me state without any hesitation: as a player, I absolutely love Mohamed Salah. My allegiance is, and always will be, to the club.”
