Jamie Carragher reignites Mo Salah feud

Jamie Carragher has publicly called out Mohamed Salah, criticising the Liverpool star for remaining silent during the team’s recent struggles and accusing him of only speaking out when it benefits him personally.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has launched a fresh attack on Mohamed Salah, criticizing the star for his silence during the club’s mounting struggles, according to a report from The Mirror.

The criticism follows a chastening few weeks for the Premier League champions, who have suffered six defeats in their last seven games, including a bruising 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest.

Salah, who has scored just twice in those seven games, was singled out by the former Kop favourite for failing to act as a leader, noting that Captain Virgil van Dijk is the only player who consistently “fronted up.”

Speaking on Monday Night Football, Carragher delivered a stinging assessment: “I only ever hear Salah speak when he gets man of the match or he needs a new contract.

I would like to see Salah come out as one of the leaders, one the legends of Liverpool, come out and speak for the team. It shouldn’t always be the captain.”

This latest issue adds to a history of public feuding. Two years prior, Carragher slammed the “selfish” star following an interview about his contract situation.

Carragher also previously lashed out at Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, in summer 2022 for adding “cryptic crap” to speculation regarding Salah’s future at Anfield.
