Jan Urban hails Robert Lewandowski’s professionalism at Barcelona

Poland manager Jan Urban has lauded Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski as a “complete professional.”.

At 37 years old, Lewandowski continues to perform at the highest level, and Urban highlighted how impressed he has been by the striker’s self-discipline and unwavering commitment to the game.

“Lewandowski is a complete professional, a true professional and an example for everyone. Ronaldinho or Ronaldo would not accept living like him. It’s also a matter of education,” Urban told Foot Truck.

Urban added that, even prior to meeting him in person, his close observation of Lewandowski’s training habits and match performances had already convinced him of his dedication:

“Despite not knowing him until now, however, what I saw was the same as what I saw from a distance: an incredible demand on himself, professionalism and, above all, what he does almost perfectly: finish the action and score goals.”

The Poland boss stressed that Lewandowski remains “a top-level footballer” because of his high personal standards and consistency on the field.

Despite his impressive form, Lewandowski enters the final year of his contract at FC Barcelona — his future at the club remains unclear.

In the meantime, he is focused on helping Poland qualify for the upcoming World Cup, with a crucial play-off match against Albania scheduled for March.
