Jesse Lingard and FC Seoul have “mutually agreed” to terminate his contract, with his departure set for next week, ending a two-year stint.
The former Manchester United midfielder, 32, made 66 appearances and scored 18 goals since his February 2024 free transfer. His final match will be against Melbourne City.
Lingard thanked fans on Instagram, calling his time “unbelievable” and support “truly amazing”. While he leaves without silverware, he guided FC Seoul to a fourth-place finish in his debut season, their best since 2019, and eventually received the captain’s armband.
He will be available as a free agent, and speculations of a return to Europe have started making rounds.
