Juventus management has signaled a strong desire to extend the contract of head coach Luciano Spalletti through June 2028, following a dominant victory over Napoli that solidified the board’s confidence in his leadership.
While the club is eager to formalize the agreement, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Spalletti is delaying his signature until he receives specific guarantees regarding the club’s transfer strategy and the retention of key talent.
Specifically, the veteran manager views young forward Kenan Yıldız as a “fundamental pillar” of his project and is seeking assurances that the Turkish international will remain in Turin with a renewed contract.
Despite the delay, the relationship between the board and the coach remains positive, with Spalletti simply waiting for these strategic certainties before committing to the long-term project.
