Brentford manager Keith Andrews insisted Gabriel Magalhaes should have been sent off during Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal.
The defender, already on a yellow card, avoided further punishment for a late challenge in the 82nd minute.
Andrews expressed his frustration with referee John Brooks, stating, “I thought it was a second yellow card. It was the 82nd minute wasn’t it so it would have made a little bit of a difference for sure.”
The draw leaves Arsenal four points ahead of Manchester City, missing the chance to extend their lead.
Despite the controversy, Declan Rice urged the Gunners to remain focused on the title race. He noted the difficulty of the fixture, remarking,
“In this journey you are never going to be at the level for 70 games of the season but you have to be at the best you can.”
