Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany confirmed Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry are fit, providing a full squad for their Champions League showdown against Arsenal.
According to a report from Bulinews by Rune Gjerulff, Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany used his Tuesday press conference to share optimistic team news and acknowledge the significant challenge posed by Arsenal ahead of their Champions League clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Kompany expects to have a full squad at his disposal for Wednesday night’s highly-anticipated match. Crucially, both Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry are in line to return to action after missing Saturday’s 6-2 win over Freiburg.
The Belgian coach provided specific updates on the returning duo. Kompany said: “Serge Gnabry is looking good. We’ll see if he can play 90 minutes.
We were worried, but he’s giving good signals, it’s looking good. Joshua Kimmich has also given good signals. It was a positive day. We’ll probably have all players available.”
Kompany fully acknowledged the difficulty of the task facing his team, particularly since Arsenal, like Bayern, has won all four of their Champions League games this season.
He noted: “We won our first four matches, which was important. So far, we’ve done what we set out to do, and we hope that this continues.
But playing against this team will be the most difficult task we face at the moment. We’re happy about that – that’s why we’re here, that’s what we want.”
The Bayern boss concluded by emphasizing his team’s own strengths: “I can see what makes Arsenal special, but I don’t want to forget what makes us special. And it’s important that we show that tomorrow.”
