Lamine Yamal has been named the “Best Forward” at the prestigious 2025 Globe Soccer Awards.
The Barcelona winger, who finished second to Ousmane Dembele in the 2025 Ballon d’Or race, was recognized for his instrumental role in securing a domestic treble for the Catalan club during the 2024/25 campaign.
Having already established himself as a world-class talent, Yamal has carried his elite form into the current season with 20 goal involvements.
The award ceremony in Dubai saw significant success for FC Barcelona across multiple categories. While Yamal took the primary attacking honor, teammate Raphinha was celebrated as the Best Player in La Liga for the previous season, and Hansi Flick earned the Best Coach title.
The club’s dominance extended to the women’s game, where Barcelona Femení was named Best Team and Aitana Bonmati secured her third consecutive Globe Soccer Best Player award.
Despite the individual accolades, some notable Barcelona figures faced snubs in the major categories.
Midfielder Pedri and Sporting Director Deco both lost out to Paris Saint-Germain counterparts Vitinha and Luis Campos, respectively.
However, Yamal’s recognition as the world’s premier forward marks a historic milestone for the 18-year-old, who continues to break records for both club and country.
Yamal recently reflected on his rapid rise, stating, “I need to keep on working to win other awards in the future.”
