Sesko, Maguire, and Casemiro Sidelined for Manchester United

Manchester United salvaged a 96th-minute equaliser in a dramatic draw against Tottenham, but the positive result was tempered by a flurry of injuries to key players, including Benjamin Sesko, Harry Maguire, and Casemiro.

Manager Ruben Amorim now faces a nervous wait over the trio ahead of the team’s return to action against Everton after the international break.

The most concerning injury involves 22-year-old forward Benjamin Sesko, who was forced off late in the game with a knee problem, leaving the Red Devils down to ten men after all substitutions were used.

Amorim delivered a worrying update regarding the Slovenian international:

“That [his recent form] is not the biggest concern now. I’m concerned with an injury, because it is in the knee, and I don’t know.”

He added, “We need Ben [Sesko] to be a better team. We have to check. He has something in his knee. Let’s see.” The extent and expected return date for Sesko remain unknown, pending further medical assessment.

The injury woes began earlier in the match, with both defender Harry Maguire (hamstring) and experienced midfielder Casemiro being withdrawn in the 72nd minute.

While manager Amorim has offered less detail on the severity of Casemiro’s issue, the international break provides a timely opportunity for both the Brazilian and Maguire to recover.

Both players are tentatively expected to be available for the home fixture against Everton on November 24.

Additionally, midfielder Kobbie Mainoo was a pre-match absentee due to a minor knock. His issue is not considered serious, and the young player should also be fit to return after the break, maintaining the club’s positive run of form which has stretched to five matches unbeaten.
