Lennart Karl was named Man of the Match after scoring the decisive goal in Bayern Munich’s 3-1 Champions League comeback win over Sporting CP, making him the youngest player in history to score in three consecutive competition matches.
Bayern Munich staged a remarkable second-half comeback to defeat Sporting CP 3-1 in the Champions League, largely inspired by teenager Lennart Karl.
After falling behind to a Joshua Kimmich own goal, Serge Gnabry equalized before the 17-year-old attacking midfielder fired Bayern ahead with a decisive strike in the 69th minute.
Karl’s goal was historic, making him the youngest player ever to score in three consecutive Champions League appearances.
He was subsequently named Man of the Match for his pivotal role, helping Vincent Kompany’s side secure the win, which was sealed by a late goal from defender Jonathan Tah.
