Bayer Leverkusen utilized social media to mock Arsenal’s set-piece dominance and Mikel Arteta’s unconventional coaching methods ahead of their highly anticipated Champions League Round of 16 encounter.
Bayer Leverkusen have poked fun at Arsenal’s set-piece prowess ahead of tonight’s Champions League knockout tie.
The German club shared an image of a “No corners allowed!!!” sign by a corner flag, captioned “Worth a try.”
They also mocked Mikel Arteta’s famous lightbulb team talk by filming staff taping over every light switch in the visitors’ dressing room to humorously unsettle the Gunners’ boss.
Arteta remained focused on the pitch despite the viral taunts. Addressing the challenge of competing across multiple fronts, the Arsenal manager stated:
“The only thing you can take is game by game and try tomorrow to be better than the opposition and earn the right to win.”
He added: “You have to, very early in the match, understand what the game is going to require.”
