Liam Rosenior confirms every Chelsea fans’ fear about Marc Cucurella

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior confirmed Marc Cucurella suffered a hamstring injury during the draw with Leeds, potentially forcing a tactical rethink for the Blues’ upcoming matches.

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Marc Cucurella was withdrawn against Leeds United due to a hamstring injury.

The Spaniard was replaced by Jorrel Hato at half-time after a solid opening period. “He felt his hamstring at half-time, which is why we made the change for Jorrel,” Rosenior explained, adding, “hopefully it’s not too serious. It was a substitution for an injury.”

The injury presents a tactical headache for the Blues, as Cucurella’s overlapping runs are vital to Rosenior’s current system. Unlike the attack-minded Spaniard, replacement Jorrel Hato prefers a deeper, more defensive role.

Supporters now face an anxious wait ahead of the Burnley fixture, with Rosenior noting: “Jorrel came on and played very, very well, but hopefully it’s not too serious.”
