Chelsea captain Reece James is expected to return against Leeds United after missing the Wolves win due to a minor knock.
Chelsea enjoyed a dominant afternoon at Molineux, dismantling Wolves with three first-half goals. While Cole Palmer’s historic hat-trick stole the headlines, the pre-match absence of Reece James sparked injury concerns among the traveling fans.
Despite missing his second consecutive game, the Blues cruised to a comfortable win, maintaining their impressive recent form while the captain worked on his recovery behind the scenes.
Addressing the media after the whistle, manager Liam Rosenior provided a positive update on the defender’s availability.
“He’s so close [to a return],” the Chelsea boss said. “He should be fit for Tuesday [when Chelsea face Leeds]. It’s not a major problem at all. It’s a knock. Pain management issue. He was out running yesterday.”
His return provides a significant boost for the upcoming schedule.
