Liam Rosenior hails perfect start at Chelsea

Liam Rosenior celebrated a successful debut as his side cruised to a 5-1 FA Cup victory over Charlton, marking the club’s first debut-match win by a permanent boss in a decade.

Liam Rosenior enjoyed a dream start as Chelsea head coach, securing a 5-1 victory over Charlton in the FA Cup third round.

Replacing Enzo Maresca, who departed last week amid reported tensions with the club hierarchy, Rosenior watched as Jorrel Hato, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Pedro Neto, and Enzo Fernandez all found the net.

The 41-year-old manager, who arrived from Strasbourg, becomes the first Chelsea boss since Antonio Conte in 2016 to win his debut match.

Addressing the media after the dominant performance at The Valley, Rosenior praised his squad’s clinical execution against the Championship side.

“A good start, professional. I thought our first goal came at an important time in the game, it was a brilliant goal for Jorrel. The quality of my players was outstanding. Strong start, something to build on,” he said.

He specifically highlighted forward Marc Guiu for his performance, noting the young striker was “magnificent” and deserved his goal.

While the FA Cup win eases concerns regarding his appointment, Rosenior faces a significantly tougher challenge in his next fixture.

Chelsea is set to host Premier League leaders Arsenal in the first leg of the League Cup semifinals this Wednesday. Remaining grounded despite the emphatic debut, Rosenior remarked, “There are a lot of positives.

Strong start but nothing to get too carried away about yet.” He expressed excitement for the future if the squad remains receptive to his methods.
