Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior expressed deep frustration after a botched marking assignment allowed Burnley’s Zian Flemming to snatch a 93rd-minute draw at Stamford Bridge.
Liam Rosenior lamented a costly defensive lapse following Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Burnley.
Despite leading through Joao Pedro, the ten-man Blues conceded a late equalizer when Zian Flemming headed home a corner.
Rosenior confirmed a specific player failed his duties, stating: “An assignment was missed. An assignment, a marking assignment, wasn’t done. Flemming, we know, is their best header of the ball.”
The result marks 19 points dropped from winning positions this season, leaving Rosenior questioning his squad’s resilience.
Refusing to publicly name the culprit, he noted: “There was a player we assigned that duty (and he) marked the wrong player.”
With a trip to Arsenal looming, the manager added: “I’m learning about the people you can lean on when things aren’t going your way.”
