Lisandro Martinez makes surprising admission after Manchester United draw vs Wolves

Lisandro Martínez labeled Manchester United’s 1-1 home draw with last-place Wolves as “very frustrating” while surprisingly claiming the visitors are a stronger side than their league position suggests.

Manchester United’s inconsistent form continued on Tuesday as they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by bottom-of-the-table Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Despite Joshua Zirkzee’s deflected opener in the 27th minute, United failed to capitalize on their early dominance at Old Trafford.

Wolves, under new manager Rob Edwards, fought back to level through a Ladislav Krejci header just before the interval, ultimately securing their first point since November.

Lisandro Martínez did not hide his frustration regarding the result against a side currently on pace for a record-low points tally.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the defender insisted that United must be more clinical at home. “Really disappointed,” said Martínez.

“We can’t come here at home and draw this game. We have to win when we play at home. The opponent has to suffer and we didn’t get the three points.”

Despite Wolves’ dire league standing, Martínez offered a surprising defense of the visitors’ quality, noting they were “comfortable with the ball.”

He admitted United dropped their intensity in the second half, allowing the basement-dwellers to dictate play.

“Wolves don’t deserve the place they are, it’s a strong team. We respect them,” he added. The result leaves Ruben Amorim’s side in sixth place as they enter the New Year.
