Liverpool are reportedly set for a Premier League discussion following MULTIPLE breaches of the new multi-ball system during their recent defeat against Manchester United.
The infractions occurred as the Reds desperately chased an equalizing goal late in the game, prompting intervention from match officials.
The new system dictates that balls are placed on cones around the pitch, with players retrieving them for quick restarts, and ball boys restricted to replacing the balls on the cones.
However, Liverpool’s breaches involved the ball boys “throw[ing] them the balls instead so they could start quicker,” directly violating the regulation designed to minimize time-wasting.
One report also noted that manager Arne Slot was involved, having been seen “handing them the ball as well.” While the league is expected to caution the club and its staff, a similar issue at Aston Villa previously resulted in a suspension of the multi-ball system for a period.
