Liverpool have beaten Chelsea to the signature of Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet in a deal worth up to €70 million, set for June 2026.
Liverpool have reached a definitive agreement to sign Rennes’ rising star Jeremy Jacquet for the summer of 2026.
The Merseyside club successfully hijacked Chelsea’s pursuit of the 20-year-old French center-back, securing the deal for a reported fee of €60 million plus an additional €10 million in performance-based add-ons.
Personal terms are finalized for the player frequently described as a premier defensive talent.
The move marks a significant victory for Liverpool’s recruitment team, as Jacquet opted for Anfield despite Chelsea matching the financial package.
The defender will remain with the Ligue 1 side for the remainder of the current campaign before officially joining the Reds in June.
As Fabrizio Romano confirmed: “Jeremy Jacquet to Liverpool, here we go! Deal agreed now for June 2026, as revealed.”
