Liverpool cancel Champions League press conference after plane trouble

Liverpool have cancelled their scheduled pre-match press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt after the team’s flight was delayed due to technical issues.

The club confirmed the disruption in a post on X, stating, “Our pre-match press conference for the clash with Eintracht Frankfurt has been cancelled. A delay in the squad’s scheduled flight out to Frankfurt, due to technical issues with the aircraft, means the briefing will now not be able to take place.”

Despite the setback, Liverpool are still expected to arrive in Germany in time for the fixture, which kicks off at 8 pm UK time.

Manager Arne Slot is looking to end a poor run of form after four straight defeats to Crystal Palace, Galatasaray, Chelsea and Manchester United. Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch remains a doubt with an ankle injury, though Wataru Endo and Alexis Mac Allister returned to training ahead of the trip.
