Liverpool is reportedly open to selling Kostas Tsimikas, with Nottingham Forest expressing interest in acquiring the left-back, according to Paul Joyce of The Times. Other European clubs are also monitoring the 29-year-old's situation.
Tsimikas arrived at Liverpool in 2020 from Olympiacos, largely serving as a backup to Andy Robertson. However, with Robertson's performance levels dipping towards the end of the previous season, Liverpool manager Arne Slot appears unconvinced of Tsimikas's ability to secure a regular starting position. This has led to the signing of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, further pushing Tsimikas down the pecking order.
The Greek international was notably absent from Liverpool's squad during their Community Shield defeat against Crystal Palace, where Kerkez started. Robertson later replaced Kerkez in the 84th minute, underscoring the changing dynamics in Liverpool's defensive lineup.
With two years remaining on his current contract, Liverpool is not considering loan offers for Tsimikas. The club will only entertain permanent transfer offers for the player.
A tweet from Paul Joyce highlighted Nottingham Forest's earlier inquiry about Tsimikas, emphasizing the growing European and domestic interest. Liverpool's firm stance is a permanent deal is the only option at this stage.
