Liverpool dealt major injury blow ahead of West Ham United clash

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that star playmaker Florian Wirtz is expected to miss the upcoming Premier League fixture against West Ham United due to an ongoing injury setback.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that midfielder Florian Wirtz is unlikely to feature in Saturday’s Premier League clash against West Ham United.

The German international missed the recent victory over Nottingham Forest, leaving the Reds lacking their usual creative rhythm.

Slot expressed his concern during a pre-match press conference, stating: “I don’t expect Florian to be available, that is a disappointment of course.”

While Wirtz remains sidelined, Liverpool received a significant defensive boost with the return of Jeremie Frimpong.

The Dutch defender has recovered from a groin injury and resumed full training this week. Slot provided a more positive update on his availability, confirming:

“Jeremie is [available] he trained with us a few times this week, so he is available,” offering the league leaders crucial tactical flexibility at Anfield.
