Liverpool to Accept Cut-Price Offer for Luis Diaz Amid Barcelona Hijack Attempt

Liverpool is reportedly prepared to accept a reduced fee for Luis Diaz amidst strong interest from FC Barcelona. The Reds have been busy in the transfer market, spending approximately £260m on new signings, including Hugo Ekitike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman. Despite these additions, Liverpool remains interested in Alexander Isak and is exploring potential signings in midfield and defense.

Several high-profile players may leave Liverpool to fund these new acquisitions. Luis Diaz appears the most likely departure, with Bayern Munich leading the race for his signature. Although valued at £86m, Liverpool is reportedly willing to negotiate a lower price. Bayern’s initial £59m offer was rejected, but a fresh bid around £69m might be enough to secure the Colombian international, who has reportedly expressed a desire to leave.

Another key player, Ibrahima Konate, is attracting interest from Real Madrid, PSG, and now Barcelona. Konate’s contract expires in 2026, making him a valuable asset. Liverpool faces mounting pressure to renew his contract, but this may not deter interested clubs. The club’s financial situation, especially given Michael Edwards’s history, could influence negotiations.

Liverpool is also reportedly considering Anthony Gordon as a potential replacement for Luis Diaz. The club is bracing for an improved offer from Bayern Munich for Diaz.
