Inter Miami has secured striker Luis Suárez for another two years, extending his stay through 2026 to continue his prolific partnership with Lionel Messi.
Inter Miami CF has officially announced that veteran striker Luis Suárez has signed a contract extension keeping him at the club through the 2026 MLS season.
The 37-year-old Uruguayan joined the South Florida side last year on a one-year deal but proved indispensable, leading the team in scoring and playing a vital role in their Supporters’ Shield victory.
The new agreement ensures Suárez will remain a focal point of the club’s high-powered offense.
The extension reunites the legendary forward with longtime teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba for at least two more campaigns.
Despite concerns regarding his chronic knee issues, Suárez demonstrated remarkable durability last season, appearing in the majority of matches and finishing near the top of the league’s Golden Boot race.
His clinical finishing and veteran leadership have been cited by the front office as key components of the team’s championship aspirations.
Reflecting on his decision to stay in Miami, the striker expressed his enthusiasm for the project and his connection with the local community.
The club’s hierarchy emphasized that retaining his talent was a top priority for the upcoming season.
As the team prepares for a congested 2025 calendar, including the FIFA Club World Cup, Suárez stated, “I am very happy and excited to continue for another year and to be able to enjoy being here with this fan base.”
