Player Ratings: Kobbie Mainoo 9, leads Man United to win vs 10 man Spurs

Manchester United have forgotten how to drop points under Michael Carrick as a 2-0 win was comfortably secured over Spurs.

Manchester United’s flawless run under Michael Carrick remained intact this Saturday, as the Red Devils brushed aside Tottenham Hotspur with a professional 2-0 victory.

The contest shifted dramatically in the first half when Spurs defender Cristian Romero was sent off for a reckless challenge on Casemiro, leaving the visitors a man down and unable to contain a resurgent United side.

Player Ratings & Performance Analysis

Senne Lammens – 6.5

The young shot-stopper had a relatively quiet afternoon but showed some early nerves. A misplaced attempt to act as a sweeper-keeper nearly gifted Spurs an opening, but he recovered well to maintain a clean sheet and looked composed under high balls for the remainder of the match.

Diogo Dalot – 7.5

Continuing his evolution back into a traditional full-back role, Dalot was industrious on the right flank. He neutralized the threat of Odobert and Simons with disciplined positioning and capped off a strong performance by providing the assist for Bruno Fernandes’ decisive goal.

Harry Maguire – 6.5

Maguire looked most comfortable when the game was played in front of him, excelling at headed clearances and “last-man” defending. However, his lack of pace was briefly exposed when Xavi Simons ran at him in open space, reminding fans of his vulnerability against high-velocity transitions.

Lisandro Martinez – 7.5

The Argentine was the heartbeat of United’s build-up play. His signature raking long balls from the back are becoming a focal point of Carrick’s tactical setup. Beyond his distribution, he was physically dominant and organized the line effectively after Romero’s dismissal.

Luke Shaw – 7

Shaw showed more attacking intent than in previous outings, overlapping frequently to support the forward line. Crucially, he managed to balance these forward surges without leaving gaps behind him, putting in a solid defensive shift.

Casemiro – 7.5

Despite being the victim of the tackle that saw Romero sent off, the veteran Brazilian remained the “anchor” of the midfield. He was a constant threat during offensive set-pieces and shielded the back four with the authority that has defined his recent form.

Kobbie Mainoo – 9 (Man of the Match)

The 20-year-old is playing like a man possessed. After being sidelined during the Amorim era, Mainoo has taken a “superstar leap” under Carrick. He dictated the tempo, provided his first assist of the season, and displayed the “real courage” Owen Hargreaves noted in the pre-match build-up.

Amad – 8

Amad provided relentless energy on the wing, essentially patrolling the entire flank by himself. His technical ability in tight spaces was “silky,” and his willingness to track back and defend showed a maturity that has cemented his place in the starting XI.

Bruno Fernandes – 7

Operating in a more advanced role, the captain thrived on his chemistry with the front three. While he wasn’t always at the center of the build-up, his intelligent movement was rewarded when he arrived late in the box to smash home the insurance goal.

Matheus Cunha – 7.5

Starting in a fluid hybrid role between a No. 9 and a left-winger, Cunha kept the Tottenham defense guessing. His ability to pop up in “pockets of space” created constant chaos, proving he is a vital cog in Carrick’s more expressive attacking system.

Bryan Mbeumo – 8

The man of the moment continued his unstoppable scoring streak. Mbeumo opened the scoring with a masterfully executed set-piece routine, punishing Spurs’ ten men and proving once again why he is currently one of the most clinical players in the Premier League.

Substitutes

Benjamin Sesko (7): Came on to provide a physical presence and terrified the tired Spurs defense with his direct running.

Noussair Mazraoui (6): Introduced late to provide fresh legs and defensive stability.

Manuel Ugarte (6): Helped see out the game in midfield with professional simplicity.

Joshua Zirkzee (6): Joined the triple substitution to maintain United’s pressing intensity.

Tyler Fletcher (6): A sentimental and proud moment for the youngster, making his senior debut in stoppage time.
