Marco Silva praised Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes as “impossible to stop” from set-pieces after Fulham’s 1-0 loss at Craven Cottage.
Fulham manager Marco Silva described Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhaes as “impossible to stop” after the defender played a key role in the Gunners’ 1-0 win at Craven Cottage on Saturday night.
Leandro Trossard scored the only goal in the 58th minute, converting Gabriel’s flick from a corner to send Arsenal three points clear at the top of the Premier League.
Silva admitted his side struggled to contain the Brazilian’s aerial dominance. “Gabriel jumps so high, it’s impossible to stop him. It’s very difficult to control,” he told Match of the Day.
The Fulham boss said his team had been well prepared for Arsenal’s set-piece threat but lost focus at a crucial moment. “They’ve scored 60 per cent of their goals from set-pieces, it shows their power,” Silva said. “We did a very good job most of the game, but one moment was enough to cost us.”
