Manchester United interim manager Michael Carrick has praised the early potential of Marcus Rashford, whose strong form at Barcelona has sparked discussions about a possible Old Trafford return.
Manchester United interim boss Michael Carrick has reflected on his early mentorship of Marcus Rashford, highlighting the immediate impact the forward made as a teenager.
Recalling Rashford’s explosive debut, Carrick noted his early advice to the star: “Watch yourself now. Enjoy it but you’re going to get a lot of media attention; everyone’s going to know you. You’ve gone from no one knowing you.”
Currently on loan at Barcelona, Rashford has rediscovered his form, contributing to 23 goals in 34 appearances.
While a permanent exit seems likely, Carrick’s continued admiration and former teammate Juan Mata’s belief in Rashford’s deep-rooted connection to United fuel speculation regarding a possible return.
Mata stated: “He was a man who gave everything for the club he supported since he was a kid.”
