Maresca committed to Chelsea despite ‘worst period’ revelation

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca affirmed his commitment to the club after revealing he had endured his “worst 48 hours” since arriving due to a generalized lack of support he refused to specify.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca spoke cryptically about a lack of support following the 2-0 win over Everton.

He told reporters: “The last 48 hours has been the worst since I joined the club because many people didn’t support me and the team.”

The Italian coach refused to specify who he was referring to, except to clarify it was not the club’s supporters.

Ahead of the League Cup quarter-final, Maresca maintained his commitment while declining to elaborate further on his comments.

He stated, “I respect people’s opinions,” adding, “But I don’t have nothing to add and my focus is just on tomorrow’s game.”

When asked about his long-term commitment to Chelsea, Maresca simply replied, “Absolutely, yes.”

The victory over Everton ended Chelsea’s recent four-match winless streak. Maresca also confirmed star player Cole Palmer would be unavailable for the upcoming match against Cardiff due to injury.

Maresca insisted that “Cole is one of the players who deserve to be protected,” adding, “At this moment, he is not available to play two games in three games.”
