Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca expressed deep concern over the club’s four-match winless streak, admitting that their return of two points from the last four games “is not what we expect” after Tuesday’s Champions League defeat to Atalanta.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca voiced concern over the club’s four-game winless streak in all competitions following the Champions League defeat to Atalanta on Tuesday.
The Blues have collected only two points from a possible twelve across recent fixtures. Maresca, acknowledging fixture congestion, stated: “I am always worried. Two points in four games is not what we expect, and we have to do better.”
Reflecting on the 3-0 loss, Maresca noted that Chelsea lost control of the game after conceding the first goal.
He told UEFA: “First half, we were controlling the game… When we conceded 1-1, probably the dynamic of the game changed a bit.”
The struggling team, currently fifth in the Premier League, must bounce back quickly as they host Everton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
