Olympique de Marseille are actively working to secure a loan deal for Arsenal’s highly-rated teenage midfielder Ethan Nwaneri for the remainder of the 2026 season.
While negotiations are ongoing, the proposed move would reportedly involve a loan fee but would explicitly exclude an option for a permanent purchase, as the North London club remains intent on retaining their homegrown talent for the long term.
The 18-year-old is expected to make a final decision on his immediate future shortly, though sources close to the player suggest that his current preference is to remain at the Emirates Stadium and continue his development under Mikel Arteta.
Despite the interest from the Ligue 1 side, no formal agreement has been reached between the two clubs, leaving the door open for Nwaneri to push for a place in the Gunners’ matchday squad as they enter a critical phase of their domestic and European campaigns.
