Mason Greenwood was the star for Marseille, scoring twice in their 3-2 Champions League victory, earning him the top player rating and high praise from manager Roberto De Zerbi, who called him “one of the best strikers in Europe.”
Former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood was the star for Marseille, scoring a brace in their thrilling 3-2 Champions League victory over Union Saint-Gilloise.
The 24-year-old’s two goals took his season tally to 13 across all competitions, with French media outlet L’Equipe hailing him as “imperious” and part of a “formidable” attacking unit after the vital win.
Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi heaped praise on the attacker, stating: “Yes, I think he’s one of the best strikers in Europe.”
However, De Zerbi also suggested room for improvement, noting Greenwood “needs to learn to manage the ball, not to force things” in moments when the team is leading.
La Provence echoed the praise, giving Greenwood a match-topping eight out of 10 rating.
