Liverpool manager Arne Slot has received a significant fitness boost with Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak returning to training, though goalkeeper Alisson Becker remains sidelined for Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final against Manchester City.
Mohamed Salah is set to return for Liverpool’s trip to the Etihad after recovering from a muscular issue.
Despite missing recent international fixtures, Slot confirmed the Egyptian’s rapid recovery, stating: “He recovers so fast.
So, he will train with the team again tomorrow and if everything works well then he’s available to be with us at City.” Record signing Alexander Isak also resumed training following leg surgery.
While the strike force strengthens, the Reds will be without Alisson Becker, who remains out with an unspecified injury.
Giorgio Mamardashvili is expected to continue in goal, as Slot noted Alisson “will be out for a bit longer.”
Doubts also surround Jeremie Frimpong following a knock on international duty, but Federico Chiesa is available after returning to full training following a recent bout of illness.
