Mbappé denies rumors of a rift with Vinícius Jr., blaming the media and reaffirming their strong partnership at Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappé has dismissed reports of tension with Real Madrid teammate Vinícius Júnior, blaming the media for creating false stories to, in his words, “sell a lot of papers.”
Speaking in an interview with former Real Madrid player and manager Jorge Valdano on Movistar Plus, Mbappé said, “I have a very good relationship with Vinícius. Much better this year, we got to know each other much better. He’s a great player and, as a person, a very good person.” He added that both share the same goal of helping Real Madrid win titles. Rumors of friction surfaced after Mbappé’s arrival in 2024 coincided with a dip in Vinícius’s form, but the pair have started the 2025-26 season in top form.
Mbappé has scored 14 goals in 10 matches, while Vinícius has five goals and four assists, keeping Real Madrid atop La Liga with 21 points.
