Following Arsenal’s painful 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa, manager Mikel Arteta defended his players’ consistency and resilience while dismissing notions of panic in the title race, insisting the team will “learn from today and it will make us a better team.”
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was left disappointed by the “really difficult to take” manner of his side’s dramatic 2-1 loss to Aston Villa, which ended their 18-game unbeaten streak.
Despite the setback, Arteta refused to look for excuses, even with key defenders sidelined. He maintained, “The consistency levels we have shown with everything that happened to us has been incredible.”
The defeat tightened the Premier League title race, but Arteta insisted the team would bounce back. He sent a feisty message to critics, stating, “People who think at this moment we are going to be 10 points clear live in a different world.”
The manager believes the squad has the character to recover, adding, “We will learn from today and it will make us a better team.”
