Former Super Eagles legend John Mikel Obi has offered a glowing assessment of João Pedro’s impact, praising his “absolutely fantastic” performances.
While acknowledging Pedro’s technical ability to function as an effective playmaker, Mikel remains unconvinced by the player’s recent deployment in a deeper role.
He highlighted Pedro’s unique ability to stretch defenses and exploit spaces behind the backline as a primary strength.
Mikel maintains that Pedro’s future lies at the spearhead of the attack rather than in midfield. “I don’t think João Pedro’s best position is number 10,” Mikel noted, referencing his “brilliant” displays at the Club World Cup.
