Banned Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk, 24, revealed a new look while working on a film project in Ukraine, as the World Anti-Doping Agency provided an update on his ongoing drug case, reports Daily Mail.
According to a report from the FA, Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged under Regulations 3 and 4 of the FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations for allegations of the “presence and/or use of a prohibited substance”.
The 24-year-old Ukrainian, who joined Chelsea in January 2023, is currently provisionally suspended as the investigation continues.
The FA said: “We can confirm that Mykhailo Mudryk has been charged with anti-doping rule violations alleging the presence and/or use of a prohibited substance, in terms of Regulations 3 and 4 of the FA’s Anti-Doping Regulations.
As this is an ongoing case, we are not in a position to comment further at this time.”
Mudryk, in a statement last December, insisted: “This has come as a complete shock as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.
I know that I have not done anything wrong and remain hopeful that I will be back on the pitch soon.”
If Mudryk cannot establish that the anti-doping rule violation was unintentional, the report states he could face a ban of up to four years. Chelsea has declined to comment on the matter as the case remains active.
