Nani urges Ronaldo and Rooney to back Amorim’s Man United revival

Former Manchester United winger Nani has urged Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney to publicly support the club’s resurgence under manager Ruben Amorim.

Former Manchester United winger Nani has called on Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney to publicly back the club as Ruben Amorim leads a revival at Old Trafford. The Portuguese star said the Red Devils “need the support” of their most influential legends to sustain their resurgence after a troubled 2024/25 campaign.

Speaking to Covers.com, Nani said: “Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney continue to be very important figures for Man Utd. They still inspire players at the club and the club needs the support at the moment. Having players like those two in the future will be very difficult, but it’s great whenever they are asked about the club and they give their advice and their support.”

United endured a nightmare season last term, finishing 15th in the Premier League and crashing out of Europe. However, Amorim’s side has found form this season, rising to sixth after a string of impressive results. The team’s dynamic attack, led by Bruno Fernandes, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko, has reignited belief among fans.

Nani, who won four league titles with United, added: “We all need to encourage the players, the manager and the fans to continue to believe we can turn everything around and be the club everyone used to see in the past.”
