Newcastle United has set its sights on Randal Kolo Muani, the Paris Saint-Germain striker, as they look to bolster their attacking options in the summer transfer window. This move comes after the Magpies missed out on securing the signature of Slovenian international Benjamin Sesko, who opted to join Manchester United.
According to reports from TBR, journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Kolo Muani had initially been earmarked for Juventus for a significant part of the summer. However, negotiations with PSG have seemingly stalled, prompting the player's representatives to explore alternative options.
Bailey noted, "Kolo Muani was open to a move to England in January before he opted for Italy and Juve, but now a Premier League option is available again." This indicates a potential willingness on the part of the player to consider a move to the English top flight.
While Tottenham Hotspur remains interested, Newcastle has reportedly entered the fray and is actively pursuing discussions to assess the feasibility of a deal. "Spurs are still interested but Newcastle are now very much in the mix and pushing forward with talks as they are looking to see what a deal would look like," Bailey stated.
PSG is reportedly receptive to the idea of a transfer and has informed Juventus about their ongoing negotiations with other clubs, suggesting that Kolo Muani's departure from the Parisian club could be on the horizon.
