The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play the Pharaohs of Egypt in a friendly match as part of preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. The encounter is scheduled for Sunday, December 14, 2025, at the Cairo International Stadium.
Egypt’s head coach, Hossam Hassan, said the match would serve as a key test for his team. “We want to face a top African side to evaluate our readiness for the tournament,” he stated. Apart from the clash with Nigeria, Egypt will also feature in the UAE International Tournament as part of their build-up.
For Nigeria, the fixture comes amid a busy schedule, as the Super Eagles will participate in the African playoffs for the 2026 World Cup before traveling to Cairo. The team hopes to use these matches to strengthen its squad and strategy ahead of AFCON 2025.
