Nuno Espirito Santo already plans more misery for Liverpool

West Ham drew with Bournemouth, and now Nuno Espirito Santo’s side prepares to face a struggling Liverpool, drawing confidence and tactical inspiration from Sean Dyche’s recent convincing win over Arne Slot’s team.

According to a report from LondonWorld, Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche has revealed the tactical blueprint that allowed his team to secure a humbling 3-0 victory against Champions League-bound Liverpool, offering West Ham United advice ahead of their clash with the Reds.

Dyche, whose Forest side left Liverpool with their tail between their legs after the defeat, explained that he took a different approach due to Liverpool’s strong pressing. He openly stated his instructions to his players:

“We changed the tactical style massively today. I said to them: ‘We’re not passing out, don’t worry about that’. People can question me about it, I’m not bothered. I said: ‘We’re going long because these are going to press the life out of you’.”

The former Burnley and Everton boss also cautioned West Ham that, despite the visitors’ poor form—winning only one of their last seven Premier League fixtures—Liverpool must be approached with respect.

Dyche had warned his own players: “I said: ‘You’ve got to remind yourselves of that, we need to be ready’. Fair play to them, they started really strong. I thought we defended fantastically well in the early part of the game.”

Dyche confirmed that his preference is for results over tactical purity, stating, “I prefer wins, personally.” West Ham, who are three matches unbeaten under Nuno Espirito Santo, will host the struggling Reds on Sunday afternoon, aiming to break a run of nine meetings without a victory against them.
