Journalist Oliver Holt has urged the FA to impose a lengthy suspension on Rodri after the midfielder allegedly questioned the integrity of English football amid Manchester City’s title struggle against Arsenal.
Prominent journalist Oliver Holt has issued a scathing critique of Manchester City midfielder Rodri, suggesting the Spaniard is struggling to accept Arsenal’s dominance in the title race.
Writing for the Daily Mail, Holt argued that the player’s recent outbursts regarding officiating and the integrity of the Premier League are a deflection from his team’s on-field shortcomings as they trail the current league leaders.
Holt did not hold back, demanding strict disciplinary action from the Football Association to protect the game’s reputation.
He wrote: “Rodri cannot accept that he and Manchester City might not be good enough to beat Arsenal to the title this year.”
Holt further added, “So he blames referees and suggests English football is corrupt. I hope the FA give him a long ban.”
