Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen and New England Revolution midfielder Alhassan Yusuf have joined the Super Eagles training camp in Rabat, bringing the total number of players in the squad to 23 ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff against Gabon.
According to a report from All Nigeria Soccer, the Super Eagles camp in Rabat, Morocco, is nearing full capacity as two key players, Victor Osimhen and Alhassan Yusuf, have arrived for training ahead of their crucial World Cup qualifying playoff.
The arrival of the Galatasaray striker and the New England Revolution midfielder on Tuesday, before the start of the national team’s workout, increased the number of players in the camp to 23.
The team is now awaiting the arrival of only one more player to complete the squad: goalkeeper Maduka Okoye.
Training sessions are currently underway at the Institut Royal de Formation des Cadres, supervised by head coach Eric Chelle.
The team’s efforts have been concentrated on key technical and tactical areas, including tactical organization, ball movement, and transitions, as well as finishing and chance creation in the final third.
Osimhen’s presence is noted as providing a strong focal point for the attack, complementing the pace and creativity of other forwards and wingers such as Ademola Lookman, Samuel Chukwueze, Moses Simon, Chidera Ejuke, and Tolu Arokodare.
Nigeria is set to face Gabon on Thursday, November 13, in Rabat. The report confirms that the winner of this match will advance to the African playoff final, securing a chance to compete for Africa’s Intercontinental Playoff spot for the 2026 World Cup.
