Victor Osimhen, Mohamed Salah, and Achraf Hakimi are the final three contenders for the CAF Men’s Player of the Year award, following standout seasons with their clubs.
According to a report from MyJoyOnline, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially unveiled the final three contenders for the Player of the Year award in the men’s category.
Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray and Nigeria, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and Egypt, and Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco were named the finalists for the CAF Awards 2025.
The award recognizes outstanding contributions across both club and national competitions during the period between January 6 and October 15, 2025. All three players arrive at this year’s ceremony following stellar seasons with their respective clubs.
Osimhen, who previously claimed the award in 2023, powered Galatasaray to both the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish Cup, recording 37 goals and 8 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions. His Super Eagles teammate won the 2024 award.
Salah, a two-time winner who secured the honour consecutively in 2017 and 2018, guided Liverpool to the English Premier League title, delivering 34 goals and 23 assists in 52 appearances.
Hakimi enjoyed the most trophy-laden campaign, winning the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, French League, French Super Cup, and French Cup with PSG. He contributed 11 goals and 16 assists in 55 appearances.
The CAF Awards 2025 ceremony will be staged in Rabat, Morocco, on Wednesday, November 19.
