Paul Scholes has denied intending to criticize Manchester United head coach Michael Carrick, revealing that he reached out privately to resolve the misunderstanding after his social media post sparked controversy.
Paul Scholes has insisted that his recent Instagram story was never meant as criticism of Michael Carrick.
The former midfielder sparked backlash following a United defeat, but he clarified: “It was in no way intended to be offensive towards Michael.
Michael’s one of the nicest people in football, he would be the last person I want to offend.”
Scholes revealed the pair spoke privately to clear the air, noting that Carrick was not upset by the remarks.
Explaining his original intent, Scholes stated: “The only thing I was saying was that I don’t think they played that well the last four games and he’s still managing to get results.”
He emphasized that he was simply referencing the need for luck.
