Player Ratings: Benjamin Sesko 7 rescued a point in West Ham as Man United’s winning run ends

Michael Carrick’s perfect start at the Manchester United helm came to a halt on Tuesday night, as the Red Devils fought back to earn a 1-1 draw against a disciplined West Ham United.

After a scoreless first half, Tomas Soucek gave the Hammers the lead, but Benjamin Sesko emerged as the hero once again, netting a dramatic late equalizer to prevent United’s first defeat under their interim boss.

Manchester United Player Ratings

Senne Lammens – 6.5

The young keeper produced a vital stop to deny Crysencio Summerville in the opening period and remained composed when playing out from the back. He was unfortunately beaten through his legs for the West Ham goal, but otherwise put in a steady performance.

Diogo Dalot – 3

A night to forget for the Portuguese full-back, who struggled immensely against the pace and trickery of Summerville. His defensive positioning was exploited repeatedly, and his overall contribution was significantly below the standard he had set in recent weeks before his late substitution.

Harry Maguire – 6.5

The veteran defender was a rock for much of the evening, executing several critical last-ditch tackles and reading the game well to intercept dangerous passes. United fans will be concerned regarding his fitness, however, as he was forced off late with an apparent hamstring issue.

Lisandro Martinez – 7

The Argentine’s ball-playing ability was a primary source of progression for United, as he frequently carried the ball out of defense or broke lines with his passing. While he might feel he could have been more proactive during the buildup to Soucek’s opener, his overall display was high-quality.

Luke Shaw – 4

Shaw nearly turned provider with a sublime set-piece delivery that almost found the net, but his defensive work left much to be desired. He was caught out of position for the Hammers’ goal and struggled to provide his usual overlapping threat on the left.

Casemiro – 7

The Brazilian anchored the midfield with his typical authority, sweeping up loose balls and breaking up West Ham counter-attacks. He briefly thought he had leveled the scoring with a well-taken strike, but the goal was chalked off for a marginal offside.

Kobbie Mainoo – 7.5

Mainoo continued his excellent run of form, acting as the bridge between defense and attack. He combined technical elegance with a gritty defensive work rate, consistently winning his individual duels and keeping United’s midfield ticking over under pressure.

Amad Diallo – 6

While his work ethic cannot be faulted, as he tracked back diligently to support his defenders, Amad struggled to make a decisive impact in the final third. He was a willing runner throughout but found it difficult to break through West Ham’s rigid defensive structure.

Bruno Fernandes – 7

The captain was the primary architect for United’s offensive moves, constantly looking to pick the lock of the Hammers’ defense. Despite his best efforts to drive the team forward, his final passes didn’t quite lead to the volume of clear-cut chances he usually creates.

Matheus Cunha – 6

Cunha put in a high-energy performance, attempting to pull defenders out of position with his movement. However, he was largely stifled by a stubborn West Ham backline and found opportunities to strike at goal very difficult to come by.

Bryan Mbeumo – 6

Starting despite late fitness concerns, Mbeumo lacked the explosive impact he showed in the previous win against Tottenham. He occupied some good spaces on the left wing but was unable to find the clinical edge required to trouble the scorers.

SUBSTITUTES: Leny Yoro (6.5), Benjamin Sesko (7), Joshua Zirkzee (6).
