John Textor, the former minority owner of Crystal Palace, has reportedly submitted a £400million offer to buy Wolverhampton Wanderers. The approach comes as Wolves remain winless this season, sitting bottom of the Premier League table and six points from safety.
Following Sunday’s injury-time defeat to Burnley, home fans directed chants of “You’re getting sacked in the morning” at head coach Vitor Pereira and voiced frustration at owners Fosun, who have controlled the club since 2016.
According to The Athletic, Textor’s offer includes £150million in cash and £262.6million in shares. The American businessman already owns stakes in Botafogo, Lyon, and RWDM Brussels through his Eagle Football Group.
Despite the bid, sources close to Wolves insist the club is not for sale, only open to external investment. Textor’s proposal coincides with ongoing legal disputes involving his football holdings and lenders, as well as a court ruling in Brazil affecting his role at Lyon.
