Raheem Sterling has signed for Dutch giants Feyenoord as a free agent, ending a period of career uncertainty following his contract termination at Chelsea.

Raheem Sterling has joined Feyenoord on a short-term deal after terminating his Chelsea contract last month.

The 31-year-old winger spoke with 18 different clubs across Europe before choosing a move to the Eredivisie.

The England international was reportedly convinced by head coach Robin van Persie, seeking to revive his career in the Netherlands after being frozen out during his final year at Stamford Bridge.

Sterling expressed his desire to play a significant role in the club’s future during this new chapter abroad. He said:

“Having spoken in great detail with Robin, I’m confident that Feyenoord is a place I can be happy and establish myself as a valued member of the team. Playing abroad is a whole new challenge for me – and one I’m ready to embrace.”
