RC Lens blasts PSG over unfair request to postpone title decider

RC Lens has officially rejected PSG’s request to reschedule their April 11 match, arguing that the league should not be compromised to suit one club’s Champions League ambitions.

RC Lens has formally opposed Paris Saint-Germain’s request to postpone their crucial April 11 Ligue 1 clash. PSG sought the delay to prepare for their Champions League quarter-final against Liverpool.

However, Lens argues the move would force them into 15 days of inactivity followed by a grueling fixture pile-up, labeling the proposal a threat to “sporting equity” and the league’s integrity.

The LFP board will decide the matter this Thursday, balancing PSG’s European goals against a domestic title race separated by just one point.

Lens released a firm statement on X:

“It appears to us that a concerning sentiment is beginning to take hold: that of a French championship being progressively relegated to the status of a mere ‘adjustment variable’ at the mercy of the European imperatives.”
