Brendan Rodgers, the former Celtic boss who left under controversial circumstances, is set to return to management as the new head coach of Saudi Pro League club Al Qadsiah.
Former Celtic and Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is poised to take charge of Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah, with an agreement reportedly reached.
Rodgers, 52, has been out of management since his abrupt departure from Scotland in October. The Northern Irishman is currently in the region, working to finalise the deal which could be made official by the end of the week.
Rodgers’ exit from Celtic earlier this season was acrimonious, with the Scottish club issuing strong criticism in its aftermath.
Following his departure, Celtic accused the coach of being “divisive, misleading, and self-serving.” He follows the path of former player Steven Gerrard, who previously managed Al Ettifaq in the competitive Saudi league.
Transfer expert David Ornstein confirmed the move, stating, “Al Qadsiah close to agreement with Brendan Rogers to become new head coach.”
The ambitious Aramco-owned club is currently fifth in the SPL and is also reportedly keen on signing Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, signaling a strong intent for future growth.
